The science behind our approach.

ProGen’s approach is built on a simple principle: understand the biology first, then treat it. Here’s how microfocused ultrasound, delivered at the right depths and matched to a real diagnosis, supports the environment where hair grows.
The hair-growth cycle

Why the follicle's environment matters.

Every hair follicle moves through a cycle — a growth phase (anagen), a transition, and a rest. In pattern hair loss, follicles progressively miniaturize: hairs grow finer, shorter, and eventually stop. Supporting the tissue that surrounds and anchors the follicle is central to encouraging healthier growth.
That’s why a real diagnosis comes first — the biology driving one person’s hair loss is rarely identical to the next.
Microfocused ultrasound, at depth

Energy where regeneration begins.

Microfocused ultrasound (MFU) concentrates acoustic energy at precise depths beneath the scalp’s surface — without breaking the skin. Our PROGEN™ Revive protocol delivers it at three calibrated depths (1.5 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm), each reaching a different layer of tissue that supports the follicle.
The scalp application of microfocused ultrasound for hair is investigational. We distinguish clearly between what is established and what is being investigated, and your clinician explains both at your consultation.

The pillars of our approach

Evidence-informed, physician-led.

Our commitment to research

Led by a research investigator.

ProGen’s care is overseen by our Medical Director and Research Investigator, Dr. Marcial Oquendo, MD. We are committed to advancing the evidence base for non-surgical hair regeneration and to communicating honestly about what the science does and does not yet show.
Our care is grounded in the published evidence base for microfocused ultrasound and in ongoing clinical observation. As our research program advances under Dr. Marcial Oquendo, MD, we share findings we can substantiate — and we’re transparent about what the evidence does, and does not yet, establish.
Common questions

Frequently asked.

Microfocused ultrasound is an established technology in aesthetic medicine. Its application for hair is investigational; we’re transparent about what is established versus being investigated, and results vary.
Because the biology driving hair loss differs by person and condition. A diagnosis is what lets us match the right protocol to the actual cause rather than guessing.
Yes — every protocol is supervised by our Medical Director and Research Investigator, Dr. Marcial Oquendo, MD.
